A 3D print is priced on several factors — material, object size, level of detail, finishing, and quantity. At 3D Lab Bali the minimum order is IDR 100,000. What Determines the Price of a 3D Print?


The price of a 3D print is not set by its physical size alone. The five main factors we account for are: material type, the amount of material used (object weight), print time, the level of detail or resolution, and finishing plus the number of units ordered. The larger, more complex, and finer an object is, the higher the cost.



Material: FDM vs SLA Resin


Material choice is the single biggest price factor. For FDM we offer PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU, TPE, Nylon-carbon, and Carbon-fiber. PLA is generally the most economical and suits prototypes or decorative objects, while engineering materials such as Nylon-carbon and Carbon-fiber cost more because of their strength and durability.

For objects that need very fine detail — figurines, jewelry, or dental models — we use SLA resin technology. Resin results are far more detailed, but the cost per gram tends to be higher than FDM. Choosing the right material for your goal helps optimize the cost.

Size, Weight, and Print Time


Larger, heavier objects need more material and longer print times — both raise the price. But many objects do not need to be printed solid. By adjusting the infill density we can save material and cost without sacrificing function in many cases. Longer prints also mean more intensive machine use.



Design Complexity & Finishing


Designs with many overhangs require support structures that add material and post-processing time. A raw print straight off the machine is the most economical option. If you need a smooth surface, sanding, priming, painting, or assembly of multiple components, these extra steps require labor and will affect the final price.

Quantity & Minimum Order


The minimum order at 3D Lab Bali is IDR 100,000. For orders of several identical units, printing them one by one is not always the most efficient — for small-batch production, silicone molding services are often more economical because one mold can produce many copies. The higher the quantity, the better the per-unit cost efficiency.
