Want to 3D print something but not sure where to start? The process is simpler than you might think. At 3D Lab Bali, ordering a 3D print takes five steps: prepare your file (or just an idea), send it via WhatsApp, confirm material and price, we print it, then pick it up or have it delivered. The minimum order is IDR 100,000. This guide walks you through each step so your first order goes smoothly.

Step 1 — Prepare Your 3D File or Idea

If you already have a 3D model, we accept STL, OBJ, 3MF, and STEP formats. Files from model marketplaces, your own designs, or CAD software can usually be processed right away.

No file yet? Not a problem. Our team offers 3D modeling to build a model from your sketch, photo, or idea — and 3D scanning services if you want to duplicate or modify an existing physical object.

Before sending, it helps to check three simple things on your model: wall thickness (parts that are too thin can break easily), the overall size of the object, and whether the model is watertight, with no holes in its surface. Don't worry if you are not sure — we always check every file before printing and will let you know if anything needs fixing.

Step 2 — Send It via WhatsApp for an Estimate

Send us your file or idea on WhatsApp. For a fast, accurate estimate, include three things: the material you want (if you know it), the quantity, and any finishing needs. Not sure about the material? Just tell us what the object is for — a prototype, a load-bearing functional part, a display piece, or outdoor use — and we will recommend the material that best fits your needs and budget.

The more complete your first message is, the faster we can send an estimate. Reference photos or sketches also help a lot, especially if you are ordering design work as well.

Step 3 — Confirm Material, Price & Timing

We reply with a recommended printing technology (FDM for functional parts, SLA resin for fine detail), material options — from PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, and TPU to Nylon-carbon and Carbon-fiber — plus a price and time estimate. Step 4 — Printing & Quality Check

We prepare your model in slicing software, print it on the right machine, and check the result — dimensions, layer strength, and surface quality. If finishing is included (sanding, priming, painting, or assembly), it happens after printing. We let you know as soon as your order is ready.

Step 5 — Pick Up at Our Workshop or Have It Sent

You can collect your print at our workshop at Perum Gading Kencana No.SH-10, Jimbaran — open Monday–Friday, 10 AM–5 PM. Can't stop by? Ask about delivery options when confirming your order.

Tips for a More Economical 3D Print Order

A few small decisions at order time can lower the cost significantly. First, choose PLA if your object doesn't demand special strength or heat resistance — it is the most economical material and still prints cleanly. Second, prints don't have to be solid: a lower infill density saves material without sacrificing function in many cases.

Third, a raw print with no finishing is the cheapest option — add sanding or painting only when surface appearance really matters.
